Our Story

Founded in 1997, Here’s Life Africa was birthed when four businessmen asked, “What can we do to fulfill the Great Commission?”

One of the men, Delaney Crawley, had worked with Bill Bright at Campus Crusade for Christ and was familiar with using the JESUS Film in ministry to unbelievers. After much prayer, these four men soon identified a passionate evangelist to begin a local ministry in Tanzania. He was equipped with a simple oxcart, generator, and film equipment to begin sharing the JESUS Film in remote villages of the region.

All were astounded at how many people responded to the Gospel through the JESUS Film and gave their lives to Christ. In order to expand his ministry reach, the evangelist was given a white truck to which he replied, “I had a dream that God would provide a white car to carry out the ministry.” — the Lord was blessing the people of Tanzania.

Since the question was posed in 1997, Here’s Life Africa has celebrated, year after year, a growing number of people who embrace Jesus as their Savior and learn how to follow Him through local LAMP Groups. The Great Commission continues to this day through the ministry of Here’s Life Africa as more than 300,000 believers in three different countries have opportunities to grow in their faith.
