LAMP Groups
A LAMP Group is a church plant born of the new believers who accept Jesus after seeing the Jesus Film.
Each church has a leader who facilitates and leads the LAMP Group using the LAMP method:
L – Listen to God’s Word
A – Ask questions for understanding
M – Meditate on its meaning
P – Pray in response to God’s truth
Each church is equipped with an audio Bible as the primary means of discipleship, as most of the people in villages across East Africa cannot read and/or use oral methods for learning and communication.
Each audio Bible has two languages (usually the country’s primary language and the local tribal language), and is solar powered, meaning it will sustain an entire LAMP group for 7-10 years. You can learn more about our LAMP Project and how we’re using audio Bibles for discipleship in the villages of East Africa.

Pastor Training
Church attendance doubles when church leaders receive training and discipleship through Here’s Life Africa.
EVERY MONTH, HLA hosts 33 conferences across East Africa to train the pastors and believers leading the LAMP churches (see above).
Most of these leaders have never had formal education beyond middle or high school, much less college or seminary. The conferences equip leaders to lead churches effectively, giving them insight on how to manage common difficulties in church leadership such as…
- NCounseling broken families
- NManaging LAMP Group finances
- NDelegating responsibilities within the LAMP Group
After FOUR multi-day sessions over the course of approximately TWO years, a leader graduates and is commissioned back to their LAMP Group.
After training, each pastor’s church grows an average of 110%!

Training:
- $25 equips one pastor/church leader during a 3 day conference
- $100 equips one pastor/church leader 4x (12 days total over 2 years)
Graduation Gifts:
- $77 for a Study Bible ($25) & Audio Bible ($42) gift for one pastor/evangelist.
- $2,310 will sponsor graduation gifts for an entire class of 30 pastors.
